Life Outside Battle
Aug. 17th, 2015 10:49 pmA common misconception about the Smash Tournament was that all competitors are housed together as roommates - while there is a 'Smash Village', individual housing is provided. Over time, some are elected to live together for various reasons, the chief among those being simply for company.
In the wild, Pikachus are a prey pokemon and while Pikachu himself is unaware of what that entails, he simply can't sleep well unless there's somebody close by (hence his occasional naps after winning a brawl). So he's a frequent visitor to other smashers homes. The younger fighters, such as Ness, Lucas, Villiager and Toon Link, are often happy to let him drop by for a snooze as are his fellow Pokemon fighters, although they don't quite understand his desire for company while he sleeps.
At most of these homes Pikachu will kip on a provided cushion, pile of blanekts, sofa or on some straw. The main exception is with, who else, but Samus Aran. At her home he often curls up at the end of her bed or on a provided pet bed, though he will pout and be cross if the word 'pet bed' is used.
